The project
The project Bhaktapur Homeopathic Clinic began in 1995 as a homeopathic medical center where doctors attended patients in Bhaktapur and all of Nepal. The clinic is organized by Nepalese professionals. Patients only pay for the consultation if their economic situation allows it. In most cases patients are treated for free. Natural and homeopathic medicine itself is cheap. For many Nepalis the clinic provides the only access to medical care.
Further more, the clinic is a training center for future health assistents studying homeopathy and natural medicine. After three years of studies Nepalese health assistents begin to practice. Thus the project not only provides medical care to patients, but also grows and enhances the presence of doctors in the country in the future.

The work of the medical team in the health center
- We are a group of doctors from seven European countries as well as from Nepal and support the project for over 15 years. We are excited about the therapeutic possibilities and the positive results of homeopathic medicine in the country.
- The European doctors are present in Bhaktapur in monthly turns. Our work is voluntary. Only in cases of financial need do we reimbursed a portion of the travel expenses. During our stay at the clinic we live in an adjacent guest room so that there is no additional cost for accommodation.
- Together with Nepalese physicians we serve and treat patients who come to the clinic every day and we also assist in the training of students.
- Because it is difficult for a lot of people to travel to the clinic, we also do home visits in remote areas of Nepal.
- We work closely with our colleagues in Nepal, sharing and cooperating in all areas.
- We teach classical homeopathy to students in different levels - from beginners to advanced.
- In addition to our work in the clinic and school many of the European doctors we help throughout the year in areas such as fundraising, communication or administration.

In 2010 our training center was accredited as a Medical College from the Nepalese government.
The study program
- The vocational training is conducted in a three years program.
- Our young students are from all over the country.
- Since 2008, the Nepali government officially recognized the training.
- Upon their return to their homes, students help patients in areas that previously had no healthcare whatsoever.
- Graduated students also receive an income for themselves being able to support their families.
- Both the Medical Director and the teaching staff are from Nepal.
- By providing such training in Nepal it is no longer necessary to go abroad to study.
- The accreditation as a Medical College was an important last milestone to ensure the viability of the training center.
